The New Standard for Teachers
When educators have solid ground, students gain the civic knowledge and confidence they deserve.
A report by KSL News, “Tiptoeing through civics lessons,” highlights a serious challenge in our schools. Many teachers are nervous about teaching history and civics. Because our world feels divided, some educators feel they must avoid conflict.
At Founders’ Five, we believe that no teacher should have to feel this way.
The problem: a lack of solid ground
When there is no clear standard for teaching the Constitution, teachers are left to figure it out on their own. This creates stress for the teacher and confusion for the student. When teachers are afraid to lead, students lose out on essential lessons of American citizenship.
The solution: the Founders’ Five standard
We provide educators with a professional shield built from three simple commitments:
- We use the original words. We focus on the Constitution and Declaration of Independence. By starting with primary texts, we take pressure off the teacher and invite students into evidence-based discussion.
- We build on a trusted partnership. Our alliance with the National Constitution Center helps provide high-quality, non-partisan tools that do not take sides in politics.
- We make it a five-minute daily habit. Simple daily lessons build a shared civic identity for students and a clear path for teachers.
Our commitment as a nonprofit
As an independent nonprofit, our goal is to serve the public. Private support helps bring a gold standard of civic education to schools without adding burdens to taxpayers.
We are replacing classroom anxiety with the strength of our founding principles.
